An exquisite work of art from Liem Ping Wie, from Pekalongan!
Pekalongan is a small city on the northern coast of central Java, Pekalongan was known for the batik that could be worn by everybody without any restriction to caste. Located by the port, Pekalongan has an interesting mixture of Dutch, Chinese, Arab, Gujarati, and Javanese.
This Magnum Opus from Pekalongan shows the delicate isen of Liem Ping Wie, dyed in a strangely beautiful Sogan color. What a beauty!
