Description
This breezy thin blouse called kebaya is a descendant of Strait Chinese’s Baju Panjang and Arab-style long sleeves top “qabaya”. Kebaya was worn by Peranakan women, both the European-Indonesia or Indo and the Chinese-Indonesian. The ones worn by European descendants were usually in white with lace decorating the edges, while the ones worn by Peranakan were in pastel colors or white with colorful embroidery.

This is antique kebaya, so it’s been worn many times before for at least 50 to 60 years. Therefore, some slight defects are apparent due to its age and the frequency of how it was worn.
