Bidang, a selendang size or single panel cloth from West Kalimantan, made using Ikat technique. This cloth is usually left as open textile to wrap offerings or sewn into a skirt for ceremonies.
Colors in traditional Selendang Ikat from West Kalimantan are usually consisted of Red, Yellow, Black and Blue - all made from native plants. Red colors come from emarek (Symplocos ophirensis), empait (Clerodendrum adenophysum), engkerebang (Psychotria megacoma), lengkar (Litsea anggulata), and Mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia), while yellow comes from Turmeric, and Black from Kemunting (Melastoma malabatrichum), Rambutan, and Rentali (Macaranga Costulata).
