Expressive and figurative, Ikat from West Timor is known for this signature. The many figurative motifs in West Timor Ikat come from the belief system and geographical area represented in the figurative icons of animals, humans, and totemic spirits.

One of the villages in West Timor is Biboki, a village with Ikat textile blending figurative icons of local beliefs and patola-inspired designs. It is said that the first Biboki was created over 180 years ago by the wife of Neno Biboki ruler.

This ikat from Biboki is handspun and dyed in Indigo and morinda plant.
